During the early 1980’s Kevin O’Brien worked for various Industrial Design and Defense Contracting firms as a technical illustrator and production artist. In 1986 Kevin began a thirteen year employment with the Architecture, Development, Construction, and Property Management divisions of Familian Pipe and Supply, Inc., a nation-wide plumbing supply firm. During his thirteen year employment, Kevin obtained his Bachelors degree in Art and Design at California State University Northridge, became an associate member of the American Institute of Architects, and obtained his Class B General Contracting License with HIC certification from the Contractors State License Board of California. From 1986 through 1999, Kevin worked for Familian’s various divisions performing Design Development and creating Construction Documents for custom homes for the Architecture and Construction divisions, Design Development and Construction Documents for Industrial and Commercial multi-tenant business parks for the Property Management Division, and Design Development and Construction Documents for various clients such as Grainger Industrial Supply, AMS Tech, Inc. computers, and Familian Pipe and Supply for the Architecture and Construction divisions. Kevin also designed Tenant Improvement layouts and plans for the Property Management division, and worked as a Site Superintendent for the Construction division.
